Kota Kinabalu Century Ride 2015

WHAT'S UP PEOPLE?!?!?

First of all, Happy December all!!!!which means is time for christmas celebration and New Year Eve. we used to say time fly because it passed very fast.but i dont think "fly" is the suitable word to describe time passes anymore.is should be "speed boosted!"

Now lets get to the point. kk century ride. this is the 3rd time they organise this event where all cyclist participate in this race.there are two major categories which is (road men open elite(100KM) and MTB men open(72KM))  and there are some other categories too. when i first heard of 100km bike ride, i think "why not?" and then here comes the challenging part. MUST COMPLETE WITHIN 4HRS TO GET FINISHER MEDAL. 
4 hours?!?! normally i ride alone during weekend 38-40km took me around 90 minutes +-.. since this will me my first 100km race, i registered with the thought of "lets go have fun and experience what is like to be in a big race". i started training since end of October which i start to push myself hard to hit the time mark for every km i ride. November is where the real deal start. we train almost every Tuesday and Thursday with 50-60km ride each time and weekend i ride alone with 35-40km each ride.
A week before race one of our member which have more experience told us we should experience how 100km ride feels like. but that time we only hit around 90km+ with 20 minutes drink stop. is not super tired but when i finally sit down at home, i cant feel my legs anymore. it took me nearly 2 hours to cold down and then only i can eat.

early morning wake up 3am and drive to meet up with another friend and parked my car at his house.went to fetch one more friend and head to mcdonals for breakfast.our ferry scheduled at 7.30am. by the time we arrived at kota kinabalu is nearly noon.

Legendary pork noodle soup?

 imagine a baby crying for milk. thats almost how most of we are when arrive kk and say must eat 生肉面(pork noodle soup). of course there is dry version too. if im not mistaken this is the second time i come to KK after form 5. after lunch we went to check in hotel but when we arrive there the room is not ready yet so we have to wait at the lobby because of all of these

After successfully check in,set up our bikes, double check for everything functioning. and rest the day off. some of us went to MTB downhill experience at Bukit Padang.GUESS WHAT? one of my friend end up injury.not sure how he fall but it aint minor! he can barely walk properly. we were worrying how can he participate the race tomorrow. bath and head out for dinner.
Bakuteh(herbal pork soup) it is! I not sure why but when people come to kota kinabalu, bakuteh and the pork noodle soup is a must eat! this particular shop we went has Taiwan star came before.

After dinner we accompany the friend which fall down to see doctor and buy some cream for the wound to dry faster.then we head to watch a local basketball match. 

Ready everything and have a good night sleep.tomorrow is a big day! 

29.11.2015(RACE DAY!!)
I set my alarm for 5.20 because we have to meet up other riders from labuan at 6am.flag off 7am. but guess what.i was awaken by my friend walking into my room and switching off the aircond at 4.30am!! is was an hour earlier!!! had buns for breakfast and some "special ingredient" which is our team secret weapon.hahahahaha.packed our stuff and double check bikes and head to Likas Stadium which is around 5-10 ride from our hotel.

When we arrived at the starting point,people are already flooding in. there is a drone DJI phantom 3 flying above us taking pictures and video.awesome right?somehow i doesnt feel nervous during race day.but the week before race. maybe when the moment comes,our brain just told us, LETS DO THIS!

All of us completed our course within cut off time. but most importantly, Thank God for the super wonderful weather. is super cloudy with a few drops of rains which cools off our body.and also non of us involved in accident and tyre puncture. Thank GOD!!!

This is the lunch we ate before heading back to labuan. BEST FISH NOODLES I EVER TASTED!you cant find the soup taste in labuan. NOT EVEN CLOSE! this only cost me RM15.00.

our ferry schedule at 8pm. so we went for foot massage and also afternoon tea break before we hit the road.this is also the first i ever drive long distance during night.because the friend that knows route is injured.so i replace him and drive while he point out the route. 

Arrived labuan nearly 11pm.first thing when i arrived home, bath and sleep!!! super tired!!!

Love this trip  because there is a lot of my first time thing i do here.plus, i get to see tons of super cool bikes during the race. even saw a Dura-Ace Di2. wireless shifting! cool right?

Fact: Yamato is an actual name for a battleship vessel in Japan during World War 2. She is one of the most heavy and powerful battleship Japan ever constructed together with her sister ship "Musashi".

Lets not forget she serves Ramune and Omelet Rice.

She is super pretty and cute right?the first moment i saw her pre painted version i instantly told myself i have to get her!!! main reason is how cool the battle amor is!!hahaha. There is a lot of fleet girls from Kantai Collection already released nendoroid version.since there are so many fleets and maybe each fleet got around 1- i dont know how many ships.so just the famous or more popular one get to release nendoroid.

Final Exam Trip

Hi all!! what's up??? this post should be posted two days ago but after coming back felt tired and lazy. so delayed until today. anyhow, here it goes.

Probably not much people notice im leaving labuan on 17 August back to west malaysia(selangor) to take my final exam for a government cert(such a drag! i dint fail the exam at the first place.is school authorities delayed our submission!) Well at least i bought my ticket a week earlier and guess what?? MYR240(excluding insurance) for a return ticket!!! talk about luck!hahahaha.

As usual, AirAsia flight from labuan to KL morning is 1045.checked in online using eboarding. somehow i still see alot people using print out boarding pass. is not like is bad or what,but using eboarding is simpler and also saves papers. Met jing jie(a friend's cousin) at the airport said they are going to Bangkok for a week. guess what? we left on the same day and coming on the same date!hahaha.

Arrived KLIA2,rush to 1st floor to catch 1pm or 1.15pm bus. Price increased for the bus ticket.i remember on May i travel to KL using same bus to KL Sentral only cost me MYR10. this time cost me MYR11. Manage to catch 1pm bus to KL sentral. FULL HOUSE! sat at the last row. =[  
First thing i do when i arrived KL sentral is to try and reactivate my Touch N Go. The staff told me there is no possible way to renew a card which is inactive for more than 1 year.so the only option is to buy a new. MYR10(excluding GST and credit).

No second word and bought the card and rush to catch train to my previous work place. Ate lunch and snake/slack around until closing time to meet with another friend for dinner. chat chat to old workmates and friends. 

After dinner, first movie of the trip. seriously i am not the kind of guy that is very into TW movie.i deny lots of time when my friend asked me to watch it.but since this time is free, WHY NOT?  
End up this movie is better than i expected. 10/10 rated for the bikes and 8/10 for the storyline. this movie told me that there is a chance to find a girlfriend through cycling! #motivated

Exam scheduled to start on 8.30am. so we woke on 6am something and begin our journey at 7am to avoid heavy traffic congested. arrived on academy on 7.15 something.went for breakfast.

This wantan mee is one of the best i ever tasted in my life!!this shop only serve wantan mee but there is other brunches that serve other dishes. and since today is my birthday, each of my friend take turns to spend me.breakfast,lunch and dinner (Advantage of a birthday boy =D )

So it suppose to begin on 8am but somehow academy authorities watch spoiled or low on battery. we waited for nearly an hour only to begin our test. each one of us is get interviewed one on one with the examiner.and then only second theory test.

After all of us passed our interview(phew!((wipe sweat))  took out theory exam and leave this place ASAP!! Tiger, which is his turn to spend dinner suggested we go klang and eat bakuteh(chinese herbal pork soup).went to klang before but never tried this restaurant before.they say is one of the best.since klang is famous for bakuteh.

The dry one is more delicious than i expected because i have a bad experience with dry bakuteh before.somehow this wipe away my previous bad memory.hahaha. Enjoyed our meal and chat for a while plus "wash eye" for awhile.and head back to Petaling Jaya. 
Tiger went for a hair cut and we went for dessert!!! my previous visit to KL i forgot that i wanted to eat snowflake. and this time, it wont pass my mind again!

Second day of our exam. since today we are having practical exam and our turn were scheduled in the afternoon. so nothing to rush. woke up nearly 10am, prepared, and breakfast,here we come!!This time we headed to bangsa for a weird dish i never heard before.辣椒板面(chilli flat noodles) not sure my translation is correct or not,just to give you an idea how it looks. i thought it will be flat noodles in spicy soup like curry or tomyam but im too naive! is way beyond that!!

Im not a fan of spicy food but this spicy flat noodles is super nice!!if you are sleepy of feel lack of energy in the morning,this might be the best breakfast for you to SPICE up your day!!

Finished our practical exam and there is extra time before our dinner and movie time. so? what normal car loves will do. either a visit to showrooms or an accessories shop. This one will be "Brothers accessories" they have a lot of branches all around selangor.

After all the eye washing and mind blowing, went back home for energy recovery before our next activity again.which will be DINNER!!!

I came here once before with my labuan friends while i was still working in PJ but end up not having it due to heavy queue. Since today is weekdays plus we went there early to avoid disappointment. YES! we get our seat and ordered our meal!!

Environment is good also.if you are single like me(especially for male) this is the right place for you!!(you will know what i mean when you visit here =] )

Tiger went back to kuching today so left me and jason today.luke have date with his friends so wont be able to join us. since today is a whole day free,so we just sleep until auto wake up. and ready for our first meal, Breakunch!(breakfast + lunch) Bangsa here we come!! LAKSA!

wrap it up with a egg tard as dessert and head for Atria Mall( a new shipping mall )  in Damansara Jaya. which is not far from my previous working place.

SUPER BIG mall and a nice place to spend time and chill. but it doesnt have cinema.other than that everything is good. went to this pet shop in the mall. there is a kid probably 12 years old or below as their shopkeeper helps customers interact with animals. and makes me wonder, it is legal?hahaha

 

Some of the super cool live stock i saw at the pet shop.there is other weird pets like spiders and scorpion which is not allowed to take pictures.There is three types of shop i like to wonder around when i visit a mall. (books shop,pet shop and toy shop).

We also went to visit my ex-supervisor workshop and chat for a while.also met a ex-colleague which now works for Bilstein distributor in west malaysia. and also met a ex-trainer which provide us training or tyres knowledges and basic car maintenance.he is also ex-teacher for our academy. seriously we dint plan any of these and somehow God just arrange for us. Thank you God!

As for dinner tonight? met with vivian at a shop named "Go Thai"cause i have no idea which shop to eat at ss2 so my friend jason just suggested we try this shop. shop fully owned by thai people.

This is what i ordered.i have no idea what the name is as is in thai.but it tasted good.is abit salty but is still in the level of acceptable. 

Moving on, 
Pasar malam(night market)!! is thursday and is pasar malam at ss2! went to have a walk after dinner.stroll around and try to find new/weird things only can be found in pasar malam.hahaha. bought a mini torchlight for myself as sometimes working in dim light places.i saw they are selling steel knuckle.but im taking flight so it would be impossible for me to buy one and bring back. too bad. =[
Tonight will be the last night im here for this trip and thats how it ends.

Same as usual,woke up late.had our breakfast around 10am something.since Gary take MC.so we asked him to join us. After breakfast we head to another accessories shop again to survey and compare price also. this time this salesman is much more friendly and thinks at the angle of consumer side instead of seller side.gave us the best price of a certain products and gave us the best combo deal. even offer us to take time to think before making final decision.normally salesman would just tell how good this product is compare to others and will try to persuade you buy on the spot. 
After rest and and lunch before heading to airport. Jason offered to give me a lift to the airport but i said is ok to drop me at any train station or KL sentral.since he is going to malacca to pick his gf up so he say is ok. Our lunch is chinese ramen. the stall owner is actually from china and make the noodles on the spot whenever they receive an order!!

 

BEST RAMEN EVER!!

The ramen is so tasty probably because is made on the spot!! super elastic.a plate of mee this portion plus one small bowl of soup with two fish ball and two dumplings inside. only cost MYR6!! super worth!!

Thats all for my trip.headed back to labuan(flight delay for 20 minutes) and is time to face reality.
Here is a short story i want to share while on my way back labuan.

So there is an aunty carrying her son(probably 3-4) years old and started to complain: why there is no priority for family with kids to enter first?? such bad service. i think is due to delay,so the airline stuff only asked passenger for hot seat to board the flight first(normally there will also be senior citizen and family traveling with kids below 5 i think to board first).and i think to myself,since this airline is providing services with super low price,what to you want more??
NO MATTER!
after 2 hours,when the pilot say they started to decent for landing,her kid started to cry. seriously i recorded the time for the duration of cry!!! not one but both of her sons cry.(normally due to pressure in their ears and they dont know how to overcome it) they cried for straight 20 minutes from started from decent to the plane come to a stop at labuan airport. is like a cry competition. YOU FEEL ME??

your sons cried for straight 20 minutes and not even a single one of us in the same flight with you scolded you "shut the f*ck up!!" why? because we are considerate and we understand. and you should too instead of complaining for small sh*ts!!
